California State PTA: ARE YOU READY TO HELP RESTORE FUNDING TO OUR SCHOOLS?

e-mail alert/Legislative Update from CA PTA | http://bit.ly/x0hDVq

California State PTA is supporting the Our Children, Our Future: Local Schools and Early Education Investment Act

This bold measure will generate approximately $10 billion in new revenues per year to help restore programs and services for children and students, including instruction in the arts and physical education, as well as science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The revenue can also be used to help reduce class sizes and provide more counselors, libraries and librarians. Decisions about how to spend the new money must be made at the local level with parent and community input.

We are very excited to share with you that the Our Children, Our Future initiative is gathering momentum daily and moving full steam ahead!

PTA HELPS: You don’t need to be a PTA member or have a PTA at you school to help – but to find out more about that CLICK HERE. To watch a short video about the PTA-supported ballot measure for November 2012, click image to the right or view the video embedded below.

We’re starting to organize now in every PTA district across the state. Between February and April, a critical step is to help the campaign collect enough signatures from registered voters to qualify the Our Children, Our Future initiative for the November 2012 statewide ballot.

We’d like to involve as many members as possible from all of our local PTA units, councils and districts. We’ll help provide the training and support you need to make a difference. We’ll have professional support from an amazing team of campaign consultants.  And we'll also have contests and lots of fun ways to engage you and your communities while doing this important work.

By working together, we can do something positive to transform our schools and ensure that more opportunities are available to a whole generation of children.

Are you ready to help make the difference?

This email was sent to subscribers of our Legislative Alerts, Sacramento Update and to all unit, council and district PTA presidents to share with their board members throughout the year.
