2cents smf: I advocated for pulling the Crescendo charters – that was the right thing to do.  However pulling the plug with 30 days notice in the middle of the school year penalizes students and parents for the wrongdoing of other adults.

The school district has no plans for what to do in this sort of case …and charter schools will fail as time moves forward and school finance unravels. The ICEF schools, chartered in LAUSD came within a few days of insolvency earlier this year.

The school district should take over and operate the schools as dependent charters – as least to complete the year. This is not a move without financial cost – but it is the right thing to do.
