Dear Bennett,

Congratulations on your performance in the election yesterday and on 'making the cut'  into the run-off.

Thank you also John for your voice and good thinking.  And in case I forgot to say it earlier:  Thank you both for your work in the classroom in the past - and for everything you do for kids everyday

I have appreciated the discussion in the candidate forums (forae?) and debates - and with the electorate - and look forward to continuing that conversation, bringing the issues to the voters and supporting your campaign going forward - and ultimately to a victory in June.

The challenges ahead are uphill and very real. Great between now and June ...and greater still in the four years to follow.

But the issue of the future direction of public education in Los Angeles - and the interests of the nearly 700,000 students of the district  (and the youngsters to come) is too important to leave to the shallow and jaded views of the corporate and political sponsors of your opponent. Or to a voter turn-out of 7-12%.

Bennett, I am looking forward to your voice and vote on the Board of Education!

Thank you and Onward!
