U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan will continue his national Listening and Learning Tour in California Dec. 10, when he visits Gompers Middle School in LA with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and LA School Superintendent Ramon Cortines. Later that day he will keynote the National Conference of State Legislators’ (NCSL) Fall Forum in San Diego.

Secretary Duncan and his senior staff have conducted similar tours across the country. These community conversations have brought together students, parents, educators, community leaders and elected officials to share their ideas for education reform and how the federal government can help improve public education.

Unfortunately none of the students who write for Intersections: The South Los Angeles Report were able to make it for the secretary's visit (it's finals week at USC). But there is video posted at the site:
