5AM July 9, 2012 :: LAUSD Board Member Bennett Kayser has invited parents and others to a "meet and greet" event at which several new administrators for District 4 and District 5 will be available Monday evening.
The administrators, for the East Service and Support Area, are:
• East Area Instructional Superintendent Roberto Martinez
• East Area Operations Superintendent Rowena Lagrossa
• 'Plus One' District Instructional Superintendent Tommy Chang
• 'Plus One" District Operations Superintendent Michael Hopwood
The July 9 event will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens located at 570 W. Ave. 26, Los Angeles, 90065, near the confluence of the Los Angeles River and the Arroyo Seco.
Those unfamiliar with the venue might want to know that it houses a superb exhibit hall that celebrates the history of the Los Angeles River and the current status as well as the future prospects of the 11 miles of natural river where a variety of vegetation and native riparian plants have returned, largely because of conservation efforts. (The exhibit hall is officially open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., but guests can usually wander in it when private events such as the one Kayser is hosting are underway.)
Light refreshments will be served at the event. For more information, call Bennett Kayser's office at (213) 241-5555.
