Save the date: LACOE 3rd ANNUAL STREET GANG/SCHOOL SAFETY SYMPOSIUM :: Friday Feb. 24th

email from Los Angeles County Office of Education

We are having our 3rd Annual Symposium on Street Gangs and School Safety on Friday, February 24, 2012, at the Los Angeles County Office of Education, 12830 Columbia Way, Downey, CA. This year we will have a presentation detailing how to have a successful collaboration among schools, law enforcement and civic offices by G.O.O.D. (Gangs Out of Downey) from Downey, CA. The second presentation will be from Detective Ramona Ruiz on "A Perspective on Female Gang Culture." Detective Ruiz works for Santa Ana law enforcement.

Here is a link to the flyer and registration form. (follows) Would you be willing to send this flyer out to those on your list serve(s) or to any other groups that might have an interest in this conference?

We are very excited to be presenting this year's symposium. There will be some very practical information shared that can assist us in reducing the influence and impact of street gangs in our local schools and cities.
