Ever wonder how much money your local LAUSD school gets?

Here’s a way to find out.

Following is LA Unified’s $4.58 billion school-by-school spending plan for the 2014-2015 academic year. Each line item reflects a category and shows whether its funding is restricted, which means the money can only be used for that purpose, or unrestricted, which allows the school more discretion on how to spend the money for that category.

To find any particular school it might be easier to download the document, then search for what interests you.

Up until now the public discussion has been only about the Local Control Funding Formula and the Local Control Accountability Plan – this is the real deal!  However the document does not include more than $2 billion in additional spending that covers the such things as administrative costs and school police.

The document will take a while to upload to your browser and to populate the spreadsheet.  It is 1.092 pages long.  It will take even longer to figure out!
