The planes have crashed
Al-Qaeda’s near
The schools are shut
The parks are clear
They’ve strung up every budgeteer
     You’re on your own
     Sequester’s here

The jobs are gone
Yet stocks still soar
The White House hypes
The gore galore
It don’t add up
They’re peddling fear
     It’s Woodward’s fault!
     Sequester’s here

The Pentagon
Has shrunk a side
The airport line’s
A mile wide
The cities burn
The rats appear
     The world’s gone mad
     Sequester’s here

Still….

If all’s for naught
Then wink and leer!
My love lets slip
Her black brassiere
The lights have blown
But warmth is near
     It ain’t all bad
     Sequester’s here
