smf: at about eleven o’clock last night self-styled former skool bored member David Tokofsky attempted to lay out the litany of failure+disaster of the Garcia-Deasy Regime at LAUSD in serial tweets. It’s a great laundry list that we should toss in the washer, rinse, wring out and hang up to dry - but 5 times the 140 character limit isn’t nearly enough space …especially for a list that grows daily+exponentially.
Where are Arts+Music Ed, Adult Ed, Early Childhood Ed, After School Programs, Health Education. Librarians and Library Aides. Libraries themselves. Count up the number of pink slips sent out, subtract the numbers actually rescinded and compare to the promises and assurances. How many thousands will be terminated? How many District jobs will be outsourced?

We are not asking for miracles, we are asking for honesty. Or did Jack Nicolson have it right? Maybe we can’t handle the truth.
Like Vince Lombardi, who lever lost a football game, he just ran out of time; David simply ran out out of characters. The cheap shot here would be to question whether Garcia and Deasy have any – but I’m going to avoid that.
