from the arts education branch of LAUSD

You are invited!

General Admission Seating; no tickets necessary

Sunday, May 1, 2011, 6:00 PM    :|:   Gibson Amphitheatre, Universal CityWalk

This concert will consist of 400 LAUSD middle school music students performing in the Honor Symphonic Band conducted by Al Nelson from Granada Hills Charter HS, the Honor Concert Choir conducted by Desiree Fowler from Central Los Angeles HS #9, and the Honor String Orchestra conducted by Steve Burch from Panorama HS.

This concert represents the rigor, commitment and hard work of music students who have qualified to participate in the Middle School Honor Music Festival.  These students are from all eight local districts and represent the cultural, social and economical diversity of the families in the Los Angeles area.

The Arts Education Branch provides the instructional experiences and transportation to these middle school students.  The performance at the Gibson Amphitheatre is the culminating celebration for the students, families and community.
