TOP US EDUCATION CHIEF TOUTS REFORM IN L.A. VISIT

Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 9:54 a.m. -- LOS ANGELES — U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan is launching a two-day visit to California with a speech at the United Way Education Summit in Los Angeles.

Duncan is expected to address about 1,000 educators and legislators Tuesday at the downtown convention center about the importance of reforming the No Child Left Behind Act, now known as the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.

Duncan is also scheduled to visit two schools in Long Beach and Los Angeles to discuss education reform with parents, students and school administrators.
