February 17, 2011 |  8:19 am - The principal of Chatsworth High School was on paid administrative leave Thursday as authorities investigated his management of accounts at the school and another campus where he previously worked, a source close to the investigation told The Times.

Timothy Guy was placed on leave Monday, and retired principal Penny Gwin was brought in to manage the campus, which has about 3,000 students.

Officials with the Los Angeles Unified School District confirmed only that Guy had been placed on leave, saying personnel matters are confidential. His removal was first reported by the Daily News.

Los Angeles police investigators are apparently examining accounts that Guy had access to at Chatsworth and Kennedy high schools. Guy worked as an assistant principal at Kennedy High in Granada Hills from 2002 to 2007.

It was not immediately clear whether any funds were missing.

After leaving Kennedy, Guy became principal at Chatsworth. He started with the school system as a teaching assistant in 1978 and became a teacher in 1981.
