I stand corrected, another parent from the school in question writes:
okay, Mr. Parent.
Topanga Elementary is an affiliated charter. It IS under the direct purview of the Board of Education.
With apologies to all: Readers, writers, Topanga ES and the the committee member I stand corrected.
